Disable multiple speakers when only one speaker exists

I would like options to disable or enable the multiple speakers detection. I would like a way to lock it into a single speaker mode. Currently it keeps trying to detect speakers even when I know there's only one speaker. This affects caption quality and readability significantly. I would prefer to translate right away without attempting to assign to speakers, only using multiple speakers in ideal conditions.

Hi Owen, thanks for letting us know. My name is Rupin Bhalla and I'm the Mobile Product Manager at Ava. Right now we are working on trying to improve our speaker detection feature. If you wish to disable it, please contact me at Rupin@ava.me or Support@ava.me. We can disable it for you once we have your Ava Name. Cheers

Hey Owen, one of the reasons we have it enabled by default is because we want to provide you and all of our users the best experience possible. We know that a majority of users have conversations with multiple people so we want to make sure we provide the best experience for all of our users. Again please contact me at rupin@ava.me and I'll be able to disable it and also answer of your questions. Cheers

I am deaf and have a processing disorder so I can’t read a conversation with multiple people in the room, as Ava picks up all of it. It moves too quickly. I do best one to one when my caregiver is speaking directly to me using the app on my iPad. Is there a way to add a feature where Ava is listening to who is speaking directly into the device

Kate Thanks for feedback. We can definitely put this feedback in our list of features to implement in the future. Right now we don't have a way where Ava can focus on 1 specific speaker. For now, I would recommend having that speaker speak very closely to the phone so that the majority of captions are from that person. If you have any questions, please contact me at Rupin@ava.me. Cheers
