Stop with the 5 star surveys
Jill Stouten
My husband has recently Gone completely and permanently deaf at age 42. We are using this platform to speak in House. We can no longer function on this app because we are prompted after every use sometimes mid conversation to leave feedback. I choose one star every time because of the errors and the disturbance. Please make it stop. It’s a mockery of those hard of hearing to have to stop the conversation to leave one star every single time due to frustration.

Just timed and counted it. Trying to communicate on Ava with my deaf husband just now at Home Depot. 8 minutes, 11 surveys. How embarrassing an employee trying to read his phone made a comment about how annoying and insulting the interruptions are and it wasted his time trying to talk about which door we needed.

Thank you

I just counted. I have had 6 conversations in 30 minutes and have received the 5 star survey 8 times. That’s all she wrote - I’m OUT!!

BOTH during and after, if we pause to read the conversation (part of being deaf is not immediate response time due to READING NOT HEARING!) there is a review. Pause to think? Review. Doesn’t hear something? Review. Bathroom break? Review. PLEASE i am going to give it another week or we will just rely on apples built in accessibility feature which is less accurate but doesn’t have interruptions unless you open an app with audio. Do better. This is NOT an accessibility tool it is an insult.

The apple microphone is awful so between missing words and errors, followed by constant and I mean CONSTANT review requests, this make our 90 days into deafness incredibly challenging.
Jill Stouten
Both, and they are incessant. Maybe once a week after a conversation?
Ava Team
Jill Stouten We are going to review this ticket so that it's less annoying. Also note that the conversation lenght is limited with a Free Plan because caption time is a cost. I understand it can creates frustration, so we'll keep you updated.
Ava Team
We apologies about the disturbance Jill Stouten. 5-stars rating is supposed to be only after you have finished to use Ava, not during. So that we can understand in more detail, could you confirm when this annoys you the most?
1) When the conversation stops on its own (internet, etc.)
2) When you restart the conversation because the subtitles have stopped
3) Other?
Jill Stouten
Ava Team do better! These two options you asked aren’t even a third of the occasions it asks for reviews. Ask your deaf friend or family member to have a conversation on AVA and try not to scream, cry or throw your phone across the room.

I agree, this has so much potential but the way they are trying to force people into a subscription is very frustrating and I have stopped using it entirely because of the shoddy service they provide. I have Microsoft Office on my phone and it works much better, there are no ads or anything else trying to make me buy anything else and it works great without any internet connection

Simply wanted to ask if my deaf husband fed the dog, interrupted by a survey, and then another, the microphone turns off and you have to start over. Now the dog was fed twice. Do you guys understand how frustrating this is? I no longer consider AVA as a support system as we navigate new complete deafness in our house.
Jill Stouten
I have 48 apps. This one asks the survey more than all of them combined in a week.
